Our Goal: Donate & Deliver 150+ Turkey Baskets

DELIVERING THANKSGIVING WITH DIGNITY

SATURDAY, 11/21/26 is TURKEY BASKET DELIVERY DAY in Lewiston & Portland!

On the Saturday before Thanksgiving, we gather with dozens of volunteers to deliver over 100 laundry baskets full of Turkey Dinner to our neighbors in need in just a few hours.

This effort is about one thing - dignity.

By donating all the ingredients for Thanksgiving dinner, our neighbors get to celebrate at home, gathered around their own table, with their family and friends.

This is one of our favorite days of the year - you don’t want to miss out!

How YOU can be Involved!

Full Turkey Baskets must be brought to The Root Cellar in Lewiston or Portland on the morning of Saturday, November 21st between 9am and 12 noon. You can designate which site you plan to support when you sign-up to donate or by calling the number provided below.

Volunteers will then be dispatched to hand deliver the baskets to a pre-registered family.

Can't afford to give a full basket? Combine your efforts with your church, small group, extended family, friends, or neighbors!

WHAT’S IN A TURKEY BASKET?

  • NEW Laundry Basket (to hold all the goodness)

  • Turkey (Minimum 12 pounds)

  • Disposable Roasting pan

  • Stuffing mix

  • Gravy

  • Cranberry Sauce

  • Canned Beans, Corn, Veggies (2 cans of each)

  • Dinner rolls (8 count or more)

  • Real or Instant Potatoes

  • PIE! - Homemade or storebought.

  • A personal Thanksgiving message from you, your family or group.

CAN I GIVE MONEY TO SUPPORT A BASKET FOR A NEIGHBOR?

Absolutely! CLICK HERE to give online. Just write “Turkey” in the comment section of the giving form.

CAN I DROP OFF A TURKEY BASKET BEFORE SATURDAY, 11/21 in Lewiston?

Unfortunately, we cannot accept a basket before Saturday, 11/21. We simply don’t have enough storage for all of the turkey goodness!

CAN I DELIVER MORE THAN ONE BASKET?

YES! Come and hang out with us for the full morning, and we will put you to work!
