As we close out the year, we’re seeing God move in powerful ways across Portland and Lewiston. With you as partners in this mission, The Root Cellar is helping build communities deeply rooted in the love of Christ—welcoming neighbors, showing compassion, and working toward God’s peace in our cities. Together, we are living out Jesus’ invitation to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves.

This past year, your generosity helped create life-changing impact:

• 1,500+ adults gained confidence through English Language Learning classes — including advanced students who wrote and published an e-book

• 80+ teens in Lewiston’s Lew Crew were mentored and offered meaningful work opportunities

• Path Forward launched, providing job-readiness training for New Mainers and neighbors at risk of homelessness

• Residential upgrades in Lewiston improved safety, stability, and dignity for families — from renovated apartments to better lighting and cleanliness

These are glimpses of God’s Kingdom coming to life—relationships being restored and hope taking root.

As we look ahead, we’re deepening relational ministry and expanding programs into both cities—more workforce connections, more mentoring, more safe spaces for families, and the beginning of our Generational Hope vision for a future Lewiston community center. To sustain and grow this work in the coming year, we’re inviting generous partners to help close the year-end funding gap. And thanks to a few generous donors, every gift given toward our 2025 Year-End Goal will be doubled—up to $26,000—through December 31st.
