I have the pleasure of loving our neighbors in the vein of Fashion and the Arts! What better way to lift up women and teens than to empower them with a creative and practical skill of sewing and design!

To continue providing this opportunity for our neighbors, The Fruitful Sewing program at The Root Cellar is seeking annual sponsorships as well as individual donations. 

Every dollar spent supporting this program teaches students the basics of sewing. As students graduate to higher levels of ability, they have the opportunity to learn to mend, alter and tailor clothes for their families and friends. They use their skill to decorate their homes, and some have gone on to employment in Maine’s local stitching community. Every student has walked away empowered in their creativity and inspired by a sense of understanding, accomplishment, and dignity.

We’d be honored if you would consider becoming a Fruitful Sewing Sponsor! To show our appreciation, each level will include a special gift/experienced - each created as part of our student’s lessons!

Available Sponsorships:

“Couture” SPONSOR available @ $5000 (LIMITED OPPORTUNITY!)

In addition to what is included in our other sponsorship levels, this sponsorship gives you and opportunity to participate in a class of your choice alongside our neighbors, where you can learn how to sew or if you are interested in a more advanced skill, you can join a class learning how to alter your own clothing,  the art of “up-cycling” items from your current wardrobe, or home decorating (making curtains or pillows).

“Designer” SPONSOR available @ $1500 (LIMITED OPPORTUNITY!)

Included in this sponsorship you will receive a coupon book for alterations valued at $100, and your choice of a custom cotton flared skirt or cotton PJ bottoms- personally made by our students. As well as a bag personally made by our students sporting the Root Cellar logo. 

“Ready to wear” SPONSOR available @ $500

Included in this sponsorship you will receive a coupon book for alterations valued at $100 or a custom cotton flared skirt or cotton PJ bottoms- personally made by our students. Also, as a gift of our appreciation you will receive a bag personally made by our students sporting the Root Cellar logo. 

“Fast Fashion” SPONSOR available @ $250+

As a gift of our appreciation, you will receive a bag personally made by our students sporting the Root Cellar logo.
