OUR VISION

The Root Cellar seeks to create a community of love that transforms our neighbors, volunteers and financial partners. This work is done by living out the Gospel of Jesus.

Our vision for our neighborhood seeks to create community through teaching, encouragement, feeding, clothing, etc. We aim to move our clients toward self-sufficiency.

Our vision for our volunteers engages individuals in local churches to love and care for the poor. This love is put into action through participation in many programs offered, resulting in deeper relationships in the community.

Our vision for our financial partners is that they experience the fulfillment of community restoration demonstrated by the changed lives of our neighbors.

OUR VALUES

The Root Cellar ministers to people by upholding our core values of love, service and stewardship with integrity.

Love – Jesus commands us to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind” and to “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Our love for God motivates us to do all things with excellence and to hold the physical and spiritual safety of our neighbors in top priority.

Service – We follow Christ’s model, as we are proactive in recognizing and meeting the needs of those we serve.

Stewardship – We act to be honest, accountable and respectful managers of our communications and the resources entrusted to us.
